Don’t Forget the Water

Adding more fiber to your diet is one of the best things you can do for your gut—but it only works if you’re drinking enough water alongside it.

Fiber absorbs water in the digestive tract. Without enough fluid, it can actually slow things down and lead to bloating or constipation—exactly the opposite of what you’re aiming for.

If you’re increasing your fiber intake, be sure to increase your water intake too. It helps fiber do its job: supporting regular digestion, feeding beneficial gut bacteria, and keeping things moving smoothly.
